The LISPEN laboratory (Laboratory for Engineering of Cyberphysical Systems) is a research laboratory located in Chalon-sur-Saône, Lille and Aix-en-Provence belonging to Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology, a more-than-200 year-old major French engineering school. With over 100 members in total, it fosters research on system engineering and digital representation, system analysis, simulation and control, human-system interaction, and industrial transformation. The Chalon-sur-Saône site, located in a newly renovated building and involving around 25 members, dedicates research on developing methods and tools in virtual reality for humans and industry, with a strong focus on individualizing interaction in virtual and augmented reality, analyzing the effects of virtual and augmented reality on users, deploying immersive technologies in socio-economical fields, and more recently collaborative extended reality. It holds large facilities such as CAVEs and driving simulators.
